Excellence in People & Talent

Lorraine Metcalf - ZPG

When the acquisition of uSwitch grew headcount by over 180 overnight, Lorraine faced the biggest challenge for her HR team to date. Within a matter of months they had successfully aligned Group benefits, working practices and company values, maintaining a motivated workforce with full understanding of the Group mission and vision.

Lorraine played a significant part in the company’s IPO, ensuring the workforce was in-formed and understood company plans and changes. She also created the first Group Learning and Development role to implement and advance Group culture and offer teams leader-ship and development opportunities.

Lorraine was at the forefront of designing and launching a staff and people management database, giving all staff and managers easy and instant access to benefits and company information via a self-service HR system.

Malcolm Kemp - Klarna

Malcolm’s role has significant strategic responsibility at Klarna. His implementation of a new recruiting system and a new talent management portal has brought in some game changing hires for the company.

He partners with founder and CEO Sebastian Siemiatkowski in all of the senior talent initiatives, working with a methodology that cuts through to the critical few candidates who are the right fit for the business. Malcolm also worked with US CEO Brian Billingsley in building the initial start up team of around 35 that laid the foundations for success in North America.

He has restructured and raised the standards of HR at Klarna, upgrading people systems to keep up with the pace of growth and setting a new direction that enables talent to thrive.

Heidi Coppin - notonthehighstreet.com

Heidi has overseen incredible growth at notonthehighstreet.com (‘NOTHS’) – this has translated to over 100 new faces at Team NOTHS.

She has successfully grown the talent pipeline by launching the first NOTHS Tech Grad Scheme in 2015. She also helped create
a new cross-function Senior Management Team to ensure effective communication channels, continuous internal development and bring core strategies to life. Her introduction of a new reward framework recognises staff achievements more fairly and more consistently – an especially challenging feat in the rapidly growing company.

As People Director, one of her stand-out initiatives was the introduction of NOTHS company values to embed fundamental beliefs and behaviours that reflect the business’s creatively based culture.
